Doctor Who 2010 Christmas special, A Christmas Carol, will be shown on BBC1 on Christmas Day Sat 25th December, and will make its Australian debut on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation on Boxing Day, Sunday 26 December 2010 at 7.30pm on ABC1. As TV Tonight reports, this will be the first time ever an episode of Doctor Who will air in Australia within 24 hours of its UK debut. Also for the first time ever it will air on BBC America across the USA on Christmas day, the same day as it does in the UK.

Doctor Who is currently filming in Utah for next season’s two-part premiere set in the U.S. during the late ’60s. The game LEGO Harry Potter
based on the movie Harry Potter was reported to be crashing by some users. The users claimed that while playing the game, the screen accidentally starts freezing along with an error message. They have no choice other than terminating the game using Task Manager.

If you are caught in a similar situation and your LEGO Harry Potter
crashes frequently then you shall try the following:

1. Ensure Game Requirements and make sure you have installed the Graphics Card which the game requires

2. Free-Up the Disk Space and Clean Registry

3. Change Screen Resolution

4. Change Sound Frequency

5. Modify Configurations in a Program File

6. Restore the Default Settings

7. Reinstall the Game

Free-Up the Disk Space and Clean Registry

In some cases, the free space on the disk is very low and thus Lego Harry Potter crashes. Before running the game, care must be taken that you are not running in Low Disk Space situation.

There is one file named PcConfig.txt containing instructions for the game. We are going to modify the values of three commands to fix Lego Harry Potter Crashes:

1. Press Windows Key and R to open the Run dialog. Or otherwise, click Start | Run.

2. Type AppData and press ENTER.

3. Double click: Roaming | WB Games | Lego Harry Potter.

4. Open the file named PcConfig.txt

5. Change the values of the commands to the following:

a. Use Hires: 0

b. UseHiresPending: 0

c. DesiredDynamicLightQuality: 0

6. Save the changes you have made.

Note: If you can’t find the file named PcConfig.txt, then do a Search by pressing F3 key of your keyboard.

Restore the Default Settings

If you had modified the game settings, then restore them to the defaults. This will help prevent LEGO Harry Potter
Crashing caused by improper settings or by non-compatible features.

Reinstall the Game

In case the registry/system cleaning and the tips described above do not work then try reinstalling the game:

1. Click Start | Control Panel.

2. For Windows XP, double click Add or Remove Programs. For Windows Vista/ 7, click Programs | Uninstall a Program.

3. Select the game LEGO Harry Potter
from the list of installed programs.

4. Click Uninstall or Remove button.

5. Follow the on screen instructions.

6. Reboot the system after completion.

7. Run the setup program to install the game again.

The lowdown here is battery life. Unlike the regular 6-inch Kindle3G that allows up to 1 month of use before charging, provided its wireless connectivity feature is shut off, the DX delivers only 2 weeks at the most. The free 3G wireless connectivity over Whispernet is obviously Amazon’s marketing tool to get people shopping for books on its own store. It’s a great feature that allows users to shop online anywhere anytime. No need to do your downloads on the PC and get a USB cable to download your favorite books or magazines. It comes with a browser for your online surfing but don’t expect a full feature browser as only text-centric websites can be displayed like Wikipedia and some other.

At 18.9 ounces or 540g, the DX is the heaviest eBook reader second only to the 700g of the older and slightly bigger iRex Digital Reader. This is without doubt its most discouraging feature as book reading is often done with just one hand. So you can expect your wrist or hand to tire early compared with most other ebook readers, like its 10-ounce lighter and equally feature-rich Kindle-3 sibling.

Apart from the weight, the price is another often mentioned disadvantage in any Kindle DX review. At $379, it is among the most expensive but judging from Amazon’s penchant for reducing prices ever 6 months or so, you can expect this to go down especially with newer models coming online. Released in October, its price might be more wallet friendly by spring break or early summer next year. To speak for myself, I am extremely happy with my DX.

#1 Ideal for practicing, fine-tuning and speeding up your strokes

Assuming you have learnt the basic strokes, you need to practice them to get better. Robots are ideal for this, because they have the ability to give you the same ball over and over again, allowing you to:

(1) practice the stroke,

(2) fine-tune the stroke,

(3) speed it up once you have mastered it and

(4) see what effects some minor adjustment can make.

A real practice partner will almost certainly not give you the same ball continuously, so if you start missing you will not know if the ball came a little different, or if you made an error in you stroke or footwork. Of course a real practice partner will also likely run out of energy or will get bored…something you do not need to worry about with a robot!

#2 Makes table tennis fun and good for your health, especially for kids

If you are keen to get your own or other kids interested in table tennis, then a robot is a real treat. Kids love this sort of thing. You can use it as a treat after some serious training, or as a demo to get new kids interested, or just have it around as a bit of fun. #5 Improve footwork and coordination

Apart from allowing you to practice your individual strokes, most robots can be set to oscillate or even programmed to shoot out balls to specific locations. This can be highly valuable to practice your footwork, and speed it up once you have mastered the basics. This again is especially useful for kids, and their coordination is still developing, and footwork can be taught right from the start.

#6 To play when no partner is available

Although a robot is no substitute for a partner to play with, it sure is a lot better than not being able to play at all!

#7 Practice to handle a weakness or a trouble shot from an opponent

For those that play competition, you will know everyone has a weakness. Once an opponent find this, and has the ability to use it against you, it can mean the end of the game. A robot can be setup to play the balls you have trouble with, so you can practice it over and again, until you you turn it into a strength.

Similarly other players will have trouble with a particular shot, and will try and to stop you from playing this shot. A robot can be set up to play any shot, so that you practice how to generate a particular stroke no matter what stroke your opponent gives you.

A club that has a robot available is a likely attraction for new players. It can be a very important facility that you can offer to your members, and can offer great benefits as outlined above.
